Whether you admit it or no phones are controlling our lives without noticing as we are happy for that. A new invention was emerged in 1877 which is called mobile phone or smart phone or even cellular. It was used just for calling before the presence of technology where it helped for making for the phones many advantages as disadvantages too. As the shape and size of the phone is rapidly changing where in each year several kinds of phones are delivered from various brands. The usage of phone increases more and more daily from 2003 till now. 

     To start with the positive and bright side of phones, it helped in keeping in touch with our relatives and friends no matter where they are or in which country. It’s sure that nowadays more than half of the people have phones and use them. For example, before people used to travel without knowing anything about each other as they wait to write letters and send them unlike now by a click on the phone, they can talk to anyone in any country daily and all the time and not only chatting but also video calling. As it’s a tool for entertainment where you can play games and by online games you are able to play with your friends and have some fun. However, some games are beneficial where there is a purpose behind the game and that’s something nice especially for kids. Also, by the use of the phone all people and especially students can get information about everything needs as to learn and get knowledgeable information. As phones are considered as wallets too. Now by the improvement of technology you are able to have your credit card on phone and pay by the phone. Moreover, you’ll be able to work by sitting at home. Instead of going work you can work from home and this helped a lot in the duration where covid-19 concurred the word. For not closing company’s doors, employees where able to work from home. As to connect your business here to other companies outside your country thus you have more opportunities to expand and get more customers.  Even schools have changed to be online during covid-19 and by the help of phones and technology they were able to move on and continue giving students all materials needed. Another advantage is that by the use of the phone you can shop anything you want and you aren’t able to go and get it due to not having time.

     On the opposite side there are many disadvantages for phones. Phone are considered waste of time as many people now are addicted to it, whatever they are doing phones should be with them. They’ll be using it for purpose and without purpose which will lead to many health problems like having headaches all the time and decreasing performance of the eyes.  When people are chatting on phones or communicating, they feel that it’s not necessary to gather and hang out which something that make people antisocial and even if they hang out, they will be sitting on phones. Phones are also considered as a disaster when it is used while driving where many accidents are due to that reason. Around 660,000 individual uses phone while driving daily and nearly 390,000 individuals get injured yearly as 1 out of 4 accidents are due to phones in United States. And the most disturbing thing that people will always want to have the newest and updated phone which they consider it as new trend of fashion. Brands are in a continuous update and always produce new phones like Apple always deliver a new iPhone where it reached iPhone 13. And the problem isn’t only in buying the phone but also in buying the accessories for the phone that has different shapes and colors and the simple thing is the cover where teenagers will love to have may colorful covers. As kids will spend time on playing games, watching movies on phone or spending time watching YouTube instead of focusing on what they have to study thus there is a drawback in the academic performance. 

   In conclusion, as any other invention phones have their positive and negative side and it’s up to us whether to control how much and for what we use it or let phones control our lives. Some use it to work and get knowledge while others just to waste time on silly games. You decide whether to get benefits or disadvantages.
