Obesity can be defined as having excessive fat in his body or in simple words the weight is beyond the average. Individual is considered obese if the body mass index is beyond 30. It’s a worldwide problem that affect all generations not only young or adult. Obesity is linked to 4.7 million deaths globally in 2017, as 39% of adults in the world are overweight so one out of each five people globally are considered overweight. Obesity comes due to several factors that leads to many problems as many solutions can be taken into consideration to reduce the percentage.
Obesity can come from want we eat and how we eat. The lifestyle of food has changed over time, now we can see there are number of fast-food restaurants that serve food with high number of calories. People love to eat chocolate, chips, candies, cookies, sweets and all related snacks that also contain calories. If someone eat too much thus gain too much calories and don’t move or do sport for sure will gain weight. Also, people who drink a lot of alcohol are passing on the path to gain more fat. Noting that when friends and relatives gather, they will eat more due to chatting. As gaining all those calories without making activities leads to obesity. And corona virus was one the causes which increased the percentage of obesity. From around two years till now people have limit of going out and forced to stay home for a long period due to lock downs. Then setting home all the time for sure will help in increasing the weight since nothing to do other than eating. As studies have showed that obese people are at a greater risk to suffer from Covid-19 compared to other. However, some can gain weight because their work all day is sitting behind a desk on their chair and work on the computer or laptop or some prefer to relax by watching TV instead of going out making some exercises. And one of the causes of obesity is genetics or medical reasons like Cushing’s syndrome or underactive thyroid gland or what is called hypothyroidism.
The most danger thing that obesity affect one’s health in a very negative way. For sure blood won’t flow as it should be which lead to being affected by a stroke. As breathing problem will appear where you can’t sleep well or won’t be able to make activities like going up stairs or having a walk which are the simplest thing. Obesity can lead for having diabetes because of the high amount of blood sugar on blood. Obese people will have a risk of dying to heart attack and increase in cholesterol and so many others. Also, the physical appearance will be affected where you will become fat and be at risk of being bullied by others. And this is a serious problem among children where if they see a child having fats start bullying him and saying hard words which leads to bad feelings at obese people, they will feel shy of themselves and never accept what they are. And this can make children or adults to think of killing themselves.
Obese people have not to feel shame of their body and accept themselves as they are because whether fat or slim each one is beautiful in a way. And parents have to make their children be aware of what is bullying and let them understand the negative effect of it. As they have to control what their children eat, at the end they should not prevent them from eating what they love but at least to eat in managed way with normal amounts of snacks like chips and chocolate because they affect the health too. And what is important is to have a continuous practice of sport. You should not stop eating or follow always diet but at least to make sport or walk daily around 30 minutes. Noting that if someone can’t go to the gym or doesn’t like to go out, they can download applications that put exercises needed to practice or watch YouTube videos and make the same exercises.
To sum up, obesity is something normal that affects people so they shouldn’t feel bad or be treated differently. They have problems that in or out their hands with little help obesity can be prevented.
