*Hasbani: We accepted the legislation to extend the term of the army commander because national security in Lebanon is threatened*
Former Deputy Prime Minister, MP Ghassan Hasbani, confirmed through “Call of the Nation” that “the opposition is turning to the government seeking to provide any way to extend the army commander’s dismissal for a year.”
He added: “If this matter happens in the Council of Ministers and quickly, so be it. But if this is required by law in the House of Representatives, the opposition will not be an obstacle to that.”
He also pointed out that the “Strong Republic” bloc had previously submitted a law proposal, adding: “We accepted legislation for this purpose because of the exceptional situation that Lebanon is experiencing, which threatens national security
