Smoking is a danger problem facing the world as this danger increases from one day to another. People always give reasons for why they smoke but at the end all these reasons are not convinced. The reasons varies from one individual to another like having stress so they want to relax and consider smoking as stress relief, some get curious to try something new which leads to trying it all time, and young people think that once they start smoking, they are considered as mature. As it become as a regular activity to be done by smokers, they consider it normal activity as watching TV, talking on the phone, eating and other activities thud it become part of their routine. Most smokers the first thing they do when being awake if to smoke. No matter what the reason is people have to quite this bad habit noting that they aren’t putting their lives only at risk but also the ones surrounding them and inhaling the smoke. Like around one billion people smoke worldwide which in return put millions of people at risk. 


Smoking has many negative results in health, it increases the risk of having health problems and not easy ones. Lungs are at a big risk when you smoke thus by inhaling and exhaling the toxic chemicals like nicotine you are increasing the percentage of having lung problems and it may lead to lung cancer. According to studies done in Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) it showed that around 9 people out of 10 die due lung cancer are linked to smoking. 90 percent also of all lung cancer in men and 80 percent in women is due to smoking which is really a very big number. As heart is affected too and is at a high risk. Blood pressure will increase as breathing problem will occur and you’ll not be able to do any single action like going to a fourth or fifth floor in a building on stairs or even having a walk in a sunny day.  Adding to that smoking is the main reason for 80 percent of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) deaths. Moreover, smoking affect blood vessels and blood cells due to blocking the flow of blood by nicotine. Not to forget it makes your smell bad so when you talk people won’t accept because of the smell and even you will be severing from skin cancer. And you may say it’s not related but do you know that smoking helps in having hair loss and increasing the risk of having type 2 diabetes? In simple words cigarettes affect different parts of your body like heart, lungs, blood circulation, bones, stomach, mouth, eyes, skin, reproduction and fertility too. And what is important to know that some may start by having normal cigarettes and it end having drugs and being addicted to them.


To continue, smoking is considered by people especially who started this bad habit early as an essential thing daily. But it is important to quit this bad habit even though it’s not easy and it may take times. By the help of others and the help of yourself to yourself you can do anything. For sure you will benefit from quitting smoking directly, but it may take up to 20 years for removing completely the risk in your life. After 20 minutes from smoking your last cigarette, you will start to help your heart by decreasing its heart beats to normal rate as the circulation of blood will start to improve. Then, after 12 hours your body will start cleaning itself by getting out the excess of carbon dioxide and let fresh oxygen to take its place. And it is known that cigarettes increase carbon dioxide to a very high level. By the next day you will be decreasing the risk of heart attacks which something important. Benefits continue and after one month passes you will be having less respiratory problems as you will cough less due to the improvement in the performance of lungs. It will not end up here, but as days pass workout smoking you will be helping your organs more and more. Furthermore, after 1 year the risk of coronary heart disease will be reduced to the half and by the next year it will be zero imagine! And now after 10 years from the last cigarette you smoked, the risk to be affected by cancer either lung, mouth, or throat will decrease.  In addition, 20 years later, the risk to die due to smoking and its effect will reduce to zero. So, you can see that a very little decision can help in saving your life. And remember that every time you decide to light up a cigarette you are saying that your life isn’t worth living.   


In conclusion, smoking isn’t a nice habit to do continuously, but it harms each part in your body to a point that it kills you. Try to take the decision of not smoking to help yourself and ones around you since it’s mentioned that they are affected too by inhaling the smoke. Although quitting will not be easy, it much more difficult from talking only about it but you have to move toward this step.
