The time when a year end and another one begins is called New Year. New Year’s Eve is the last paper in the book, it’s page 365 of 365, thus it is the last night spent in the year. This occasion is celebrated differently in each country as it may be on different days and whenever this occasion is celebrated it will be preceded by many preparations to have everything perfect. All wish on this day to begin a new year fill of positive things, enjoyment, and success.

The normal celebration in all the world is to stay home and have a beautiful night with friends or family at home. Here people start by decorating the home with colorful ribbon and balloons, as they start to place the dishes and cups on the table that they’ll eat dinner at. Not to forget that from the main thing in the decoration is the Christmas tree that is still available with its balls, Santa, starts and all what is putted on it. As they buy masks to be worn at the night before they start to countdown to welcome the new year. After the decoration is done, it’s time to start with the food where there are two types of people, the first one that like to make everything by their hands whole the other type that order food from restaurants. So they make main dish with some appetizers as cake and nuts with chips, chocolate candies and other sweets should be presented with the drinks. At the end it is the time to get ready, thus to wear the perfect clothes. Most of the people go shopping for this special day some may be wearing clothes as if they are going to a party outside the home. So, people may choose colorful clothes in way to let the coming year be colorful and full of joy. On the side, there is the second type of people who prefer to go to parties and enjoy their night with the singers at the place they are in. No matter what people do a happy celebration is when you are with the right people. As it’s better to choose the right people to start the new year with.


A quick example of how this night is celebrated around the world. First the fireworks are an essential part of this night as it is played at the midnight when countdown is over. For example firework takes place in New Zealand at Auckland sky tower, and in Australia in Sydney Harbour, however in Toronto Canada it is in Nathan Phillips Square. In Denmark their tradition is to smash plates as a sign of getting rid of all the negative vibes and have a new beginning. As In Brazil they have a tradition of eating lentils at this night since they think they represent money. Moreover, in Spain they start to eat twelve grapes when the time is 12 midnight as they believe that such think will bring them twelve lucky months. And imagine that in Romania people dress as bears to chase away any evil spirits. Adding, that in Johannesburg which is in South Africa, people need to start their year without the unneeded furniture so it ends up by throwing old ones from windows at midnight.


In conclusion, no matter what the tradition is or how you spend this last night what matter to people is to have the coming year full of happiness and success without any danger problems.
